As a tutor I work to develop in my scholars a thorough understanding along with confidence at tests and having the ability to handle unknown concerns. The base of my philosophy is the belief that learning takes place in an area of reciprocal appreciation where the scholar is supported to think and make new relationships for themselves. According to my practical experience private tuition has a special advantage to students through the option to resolve the scholars' own obstacles to learning in a way that sets the bases for a thorough and long-term perception of the course.
Analytic thinking
My approach varies depending on the child's learning style and needs. My teaching ideology is based on stimulating students to think for themselves, operating existing examples everywhere it can be. |My opinion is that it is really important to supply learners with a working knowledge and to give them problem-solving skills for building upon this knowledge. Teaching anyone to think analytically is at the core of the things a child should really take away from any subject course.
We learn through examples
The most enduring improvements a teacher are able to bring in is mentoring learners, and it is a process, that I find interesting and beneficial. From my practice, I found out the importance of involving students through patterns and of delivering data at a degree which assumes intellect though not necessarily knowledge, mixing the unknown with the known as a solution which brings the person the feeling of likelihood instead of that of impossibility that formal and impressive methods can enforce.
How I teach
I start from topics the students are good with and proceed little by little towards more complex parts as long as their self-esteem is being built. I choose examples and questions to analyse realising all the time. I really don't lecture to children or request them to remember information. Neither do I accomplish the scholars' assignments for them!
I normally involve exam-style or prior paper questions to analyse, exercise and perfect the learner's recognising and performance. I even give a lot of attention to a number of the less obvious yet essential abilities like logical thought, essay technique and structure, and the good use of numbers and graphs.
